This could be due to the fact that Obama during the campaign said he would bring the troops home and since he became President they have realized it was a lie and also that he has a lack of respect for the troops. Another reason is his long failure to make up his mind in time to provide them with replacements and supplies they desperately need to win the war has demoralized the Soldiers. They feel left out due to his lack of indicisiveness and action. You have to admit that the President has been playing Politics with the troops lives this year as he ignored his generals request over & over. The man is not a fan of the military unlike Sarah Palin who admires them and is proud of them who would never leave them in Jeopardy.

So far this year 354 soldiers have committed suicide...compared to 335 killed by enemy fire in Iraq and Afghanistan combined..

This piece also talks about the policy of not sending letters to the families of soldiers who commit suicide..
Gibbs goes on to say that this policy is under review and on going..

The Secretary of Defense also does not write these letters ....Some might believe that it would diminish the sacrifice of the soldiers who died at the enemies hands..

Do you believe the families of US soldiers that commit suicide should receive condolence letters?

And are they any less a soldier for having taking their own life?
